I get the error “closing Error closing files: unknown error” when I try to migrate one file.
It have been working before. I have update to latest FileMaker Server version (21.1.1.40) and latest Otto FMS (4.8.1). Its running on OS X 14.7
Does the error occur 3 minutes after a log that says something like “beginning to close files”? We’ve been seeing that unknown error when the close files timeout gets hit, which could indicate an issue with your FileMaker server. If you’re seeing that 3 minute gap I would try restarting the admin server, and if that does not fix it I would try completely rebooting FileMaker Server.
Let me know if your logs don’t have that 3 minutes gap between the starting to close and the error and I can take a deeper look!
Restarting adminserver and restarting the entire server didn’t fix this issue with a couple of my servers. I think it started after updating to OttoFMS 4.8.1. One server is hosted at soliant.cloud the other is an Azure VM. I ended up closing the files that needed migration to get it started. The files didn’t reopen after the migration was complete and I had to reopen them from the admin website.
When I reinstalled 4.8.0 on the Azure server the migration was completed without any errors. I’m in the process of requesting that 4.8.0 be reinstalled on the soliant.cloud server and will let you know if that also fixes the issue. otto-error.log.zip (2.4 KB)
