do you ‘install’ rclone as part of the Otto installation, as I am aware that you use it under the hood to do the S3 transfers?
If we wanted to also use it for other .sh scripts that would be useful would it break your install by adding another config?

Yes we do. It is installed in the /OttoFMS/bin directory.
We put the rclone config in the config directory. In theory you can put your entries in this file and use it. But I think it would be safer to create and maintain your own config. You can pass the path to the config file with the --config path/to/config option.
