Ottomatic Projects just went live!

Hey y’all,

Ottomatic Projects just went live in beta! Projects are our ideal version of DevOps, with change tracking, releases, and XML diffing. They allow you to see changes to your files over time, make releases (think of these as OttoFMS builds with some extra bells and whistles), and create changelogs to send to your customers.

You can find more information on how Projects work, how to set them up, and how to use them in the project docs.

For the beta period, everyone can make 1 project free. In the future projects will be a pro feature of the Ottomatic Console and therefore paid.

Please try out projects, let us know how you like it and how you’d like to see it change. Our current plans for projects include:

  • Publishing builds from Projects
  • Deploying directly from within Projects instead of going out to OttoDeploy
  • Getting Checkpoints off the server and into the cloud to save space.
  • Some secret stuff that we’re really excited about

Thanks y’all!!

May be just me but I am seeing this error with projects:

pgsodium_crypto_aead_det_decrypt_by_id: invalid message

Well that is not ideal. Let me take a look. I’ll send you a message in DMs about it.

Hey Stephen, it looks like you somehow got empty values into the database for your username or password. I’m going to remove the files from the project and have you add them back with the username and password. I’ll get some more protections in place for this.
