Start update from OttoFMS

Hi. I would like to suggest a feature enhancement for OttoFMS. It would be highly beneficial if the platform could include an option to initiate updates to OttoFMS directly from the application itself, at least for Linux servers.

This feature would be particularly valuable for users whose hosting providers do not permit SSH access, as it can be challenging to ensure all servers are consistently updated to the latest version under such circumstances.

Hi John,

We think this is good idea too. It is on our list of things to figure out. It’s a bit tricky since installing or updating apps requires root access or elevated privileges. So we can’t just have OttoFMS run the updater commands. But we will figure out a way.
